Noteable Amenities
Location
El Fenn is in the enchanting Medina of Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the city's heart. Immerse yourself in a labyrinth of narrow streets and bustling souks, where the markets tempt you with their colorful display of traditional crafts, spices, and textiles.
The central location of this bohemian hotel provides easy access to nearby landmarks, like the Bahia Palace and the Koutoubia Mosque. Otherwise, simply soak in the lively atmosphere of the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
Design
Experience boutique luxury and traditional courtyard charm at El Fenn as you enjoy the stunning views of draped balconies, sun-drenched patios, and lantern-lit pathways.
The hotel is committed to discovering and showcasing meticulous craftsmanship, seen in its zellige-tiled colonnades, tadelakt lime plaster walls, and stitched leather floors created by local artisans. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the impressive contemporary art collection featuring renowned artists like William Kentridge and Sir Antony Gormley. Beyond that, the curated pieces from the owners' collections add a wonderfully personal touch.
More recently, the hotel introduced an installation by Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj, often dubbed the Andy Warhol of Marrakech, owing to his pop art style. Exclusively designed for El Fenn, Hajjaj's artwork features recycled food tins in pastel tones alongside a wall of glass bottles that resemble the stained glass throughout the property.
But when here, take advantage of the highlight: the impressive roof terrace, offering breathtaking views of Marrakech. It's a must-see for capturing the city's beauty.
Rooms
In October 2022, El Fenn completed its expansion plans, spanning 13 interconnected riads and adding ten new bedrooms. The hotel now offers 41 rooms and covers two acres of space, providing guests a spacious home-away-from-home. The expansion also allows El Fenn to connect with its Annex, bringing the entire hotel under one roof.
Though the place may continue to evolve with its paintings, colors, fabrics, and furnishing, each room is unique, following the El Fenn formula, which combines bold colors, mid-century furniture, and elements of local heritage like hand-carved cedar wood ceilings.
Indulge in oversized bathtubs, outdoor showers, and inviting fireplaces. The hotel takes great pride in supporting the local community, sourcing everything locally, including bed linens and organic bath products.
Food & Drink
The menus at El Fenn celebrate the culinary traditions of Morocco with a focus on plant-based dishes. Drawing on local and seasonal ingredients, the restaurant offers a variety of classic El Fenn creations and a daily-changing vegetarian menu with optional meat and fish options.
Delight your taste buds with dishes like cumin, lemon, and feta scorched corn, roast sweet potatoes with hot harissa honey, or dukkah-crusted rack of lamb accompanied by barkoukech, argan squash, and Za'atar jus.
As for the wine list, explore some of the best Moroccan wines while the cocktail selection features El Fenn's signature Hibiscus Ginger Margarita and other favorites like the Elderflower Sour and Marrakech Negroni.
