Noteable Amenities
Location
Nestled in the northern region of France lies the Opal Coast, a stunning stretch of coastline that spans over 120 kilometers. The area is known for its maritime history, dramatic cliffs, picturesque beaches, and charming seaside towns, where you'll find quaint properties like Moulin Moulin, a former water mill.
For nature lovers, check out the white cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez and the iconic lighthouse of Cap Gris-Nez.
Design
The mill has been around for over 500 years, undergoing many transformations over time. But for co-owner Nicolas, it was essential to preserve the integrity of the original designs of the site, something he feels the previous residents didn’t do. He incorporated many furnishings from storage that he'd already collected over time. And as a lover of vintage items, he's combined classic and unique elements to create a one-of-a-kind look, which almost resembles visiting your grandparents' place.
Several personal objects can be found throughout the house, such as paintings or crockery. And through the use of contrasting patterns, textures, and colors, the house is a visually interesting space that maintains a warm and inviting ambiance.
Rooms
Speaking of grandparents, the four rooms at Moulin Moulin are named after Nicolas and Jérémy's grandmothers. Again, personal objects can be found, and the spaces are ideal for solo travelers or couples.
Outside, the separate guest house is better suited for young families of two adults and two children.
Food & Drink
Guests can make full use of the kitchen if they're renting out the entire property, i.e. when Nicolas and Jérémy aren't staying there. When they are around, they take pride in their cooking, preparing delicious meals for all their guests.
Breakfast is big at Moulin Moulin, featuring fresh eggs daily, thanks to the chickens on-site. And for sweet lovers, Nicolas serves up local delights, like tarte au sucre and gâteau battu.
Downstairs, there's a 'snack room' filled with various items, such as soups or charcuterie. It's free to rummage whenever you're peckish.
